Kim Sponaugle is a free-lance children’s illustrator. Upon graduation from The Art Institute of Philadelphia, she began working for DC Cook Publishing as a children teaching aid designer but soon found her heart's vocation in children’s illustration. While working as a kid’s portrait artist, Kim developed a style that captured the effervescence of childhood and has tried to incorporate that joy into her work. In 2007, she started Picture Kitchen Studio, and has since had the opportunity of illustrating more than forty books for kids. Picture Kitchen Studio has been honored to receive the Mom’s Choice, Pinnacle Book, CIPA EVVY and Reader’s Favorite Awards.

Pam and Kim have been working together since May 1995. In July 1998, Concordia Publishing House picked up two books in their picture book series, The Adventures of Beatrice.  “Beatrice Loses Her Doll” and “Beatrice’s New Clothes” were released August 2001.

They are active teaching workshops for writers groups and libraries, schools and scout troops. They have  participated in book readings/signings at local Christian bookstores and churches.
