I live in Mirror Lake. It's my lake and I don’t like anyone swimming in
it. I know they do when I'm away, but if they try it when I'm home, I spit water
at them and make them vamoose. I'm old and ugly and no one wants me anymore.
Well, at least until I met Willoughby. He and I are the only dragons in Dern,
so I guess that makes us friends. But don't tell anyone. It will ruin my
reputation.

Woodside the Bat
Me name is Woodside because I be a bat with damaged radar, so I
sometimes crash into trees or the sides of buildings. Mumsie found me in the
Dark Forest and helped me. One day, I met Willoughby and he took care of me
until Mumsie could come. Tis a grand thing to have friends!

I'm a troll, I am. Trolls usually break things, but I like to fix 'em.
I live in the Dark Forest with my troll tribe. They keep me plenty busy, they
do. Woodside is like my own son, he is. And I'm grateful to Willoughby for
looking after him when he crashed into a tree.
